A wage earner with only junior high school education, when he was 23 years old, he entered the most authoritative institution in the field of Chinese geographical names research-China Geographical Names Research Institute, and became an accomplished expert in Chinese geographical names research. An authentic peasant Liu Renjun who had worked as a bricklayer. He has no academic qualifications, no degree, no professional title, and nothing to rely on. He relies on his own strength. Not only can he continuously recite more than 9,000 place names all over the world, but he is also familiar with the long-term population, traffic conditions, places of interest and special products of various places. He is the current Guinness World Record holder in terms of the number of place name memories.
What Liu Renjun's success depends on, from his not too long life experience, we can see that he relied on perseverance. His obsession with geography learning and research has been reduced to obsession. When he was in the fourth grade of primary school, he was fascinated by the geography textbook. In other classes, he also secretly read geography books. Later, Liu Renjun did not go to school. At home, besides eating and sleeping, he kept himself in the house and fiddled with maps. His parents considered him to be "loose", so he went to learn bricklayers. He also learned to work bricklayers for three days and fished for two days. Most of the time he still read his geography book at home. Sometimes I went to town to buy wall charts of the world's political regions and China's political regions, and then cut them up and down according to national and provincial boundaries to make games to identify the names of countries and provinces, deepen memories, and enjoy it. Not only that, every week, he has to ride a car of more than 40 kilometers to go to the Xinhua Bookstore in the downtown area of Nanjing to copy materials, usually one copy a day. Therefore, he was regarded by the neighbors of the neighborhood as "doing no business", treating him as a "crazy", and even using him as a typical education child for "not learning well". Because Liu Renjun is always immersed in his geographical kingdom, the workers also think that he has a problem with his brain, and often talk about things. For these gossips, Liu Renjun never ignored them and still insisted on studying and living in his own way.
Work hard to live up to the people with heart. In 1998, Liu Renjun saw a piece of news from the "Yangtze Evening News". Someone reckoned 4,810 place names in 3 hours and 50 minutes, and then he was certified by the Shanghai Guinness Headquarters, and was the world's best in Guinness memory of Chinese and foreign place names in 1998. At that time he was already able to recite more than 5,000 place names, and he was determined to break the Guinness record and obtain the new "world's best".
In order not to be disturbed, he rented a house on the outskirts of Nanjing, basically without leaving the house, and prepared carefully. In March 2000, after testing by the Nanjing Normal University School of Geography, he reckoned 8856 place names in one breath, which took only 3 hours and 45 minutes. He successfully obtained the notary certificate from Nanjing Notary Office. Two months later, Liu Renjun finally looked forward to the certificate he dreamed of breaking the Guinness record. With this Guinness certificate won by his hard work and sweat, he entered the Institute of Geographical Names of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China and became an expert in the study of geographical names in my country, raising his life value by one grade.
Liu Renjun's road to success is difficult. Without the perseverance and perseverance, he can't realize his life pursuit and ideals.
